On Monday, October 20, 2020, the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) Mr. Alexandros Vasilikos presented in an online press conference a survey prepared by the Research Institute for Tourism (RIT) on behalf of the HCH. The main objective of the research was to highlight the prevailing situation in the hotel industry after the compulsory lockdown as a precautionary measure to avert the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
For another consecutive year, the hotel sector has proven to be the main development contributor and the major employer of the Greek economy. At the same time the structural problems of Greek tourism remain: high seasonality, as well as tourism over-concentration in 5 regions. The above are shown in the annual survey for hotel market, with title: “Developments in the main figures of Greek hotel market in 2019”, conducted by the Research Institute for Tourism on behalf of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.
The survey records the satisfaction level of hoteliers in relation to their collaboration with their banks regarding several aspects of their enterpreneurial function.
