Presentation of the RIT’S study on the Tax Burden of the Hotel Industry
On Wednesday, December 18, 2024, a study on the Tax Burden of the Hotel Industry was presented at the Electra Palace Hotel. This study was conducted as part of a research collaboration between RIT and Panteion University, under the scientific supervision of Mr. George Soklis, Assistant Professor at Panteion University. The aim of the study is, on the one hand, to estimate the tax burden of the hotel industry through the breakdown of its production costs, and, on the other hand, to compare the findings with the corresponding averages in other sectors of the Greek economy.
FULL PRESENTATION OF THE STUDY
The presentation of the study on the Tax Burden of the Hotel Industry highlights the high tax burden faced by the hotel sector and the unequal treatment it receives compared to other sectors of the Greek economy. At the same time, it emphasizes the dynamic nature of the industry, as it generates income that is distributed to other sectors of the economy at nearly double the rate compared to the average of other industries.
